LionSteel M5 Fixed Blade Santos Wood

LionSteel built the M5 as a camp knife you can actually justify wearing all day. Molletta's design keeps the profile lean enough that it disappears on a belt, but the blade has enough length and mass behind it to break down firewood, process game, or handle food prep at the tailgate without feeling undersized. Blade

The 4 1/2 inch drop point is ground from Sleipner, an Uddeholm tool steel that LionSteel has leaned on for years. Think of it as a refined D2 with a cleaner grain structure and better toughness, which matters on a fixed blade that sees lateral loads and hard contact. Heat treated to 60-61 HRC, it holds a working edge through long cutting sessions and takes a keen finish on ceramic or diamond without fighting you. The satin finish and 0.18 inch stock give it real spine strength for batoning and prying tasks that would worry a thinner blade. Sleipner is not stainless, so wipe it down after use around moisture and acidic food.

Handle

Santos wood scales are contoured and grooved rather than flat slabbed, filling the palm and locking the hand in place through push cuts and draw strokes. The integral finger guard keeps your grip off the edge when things get slick, and the full tang runs the length of the handle for a stiff, balanced feel. Stainless Torx T15 hardware holds everything together, and a lanyard hole sits at the butt.
