The MachineWise Mojave is a titanium framelock flipper knife built by a five-person team in Phoenix, Arizona. Every Mojave is CNC machined, serialized, and individually Rockwell tested before it ships — each knife includes a QC card documenting the blade's measured hardness and a COA confirming steel composition. This is a small-batch American-made folding knife, not a mass-production run. Availability on specific variants is limited and does not restock on a set schedule.
The Mojave carries a 3.45" Wharncliffe blade in S90V, a high-vanadium powder metallurgy steel valued for exceptional edge retention. S90V outperforms 20CV in wear resistance, which translates to longer intervals between sharpenings during sustained everyday carry use. Earlier Mojave production runs shipped in 20CV — both steels are proven performers, but S90V is the current standard across this collection. Blade stock measures 0.125" with a thin grind (0.011–0.015" behind the belly), giving the Wharncliffe profile the slicing geometry it needs to excel as an EDC blade. Finish options include stonewash and lightwash depending on variant.
The handle is a two-slab Grade 5 titanium sandwich build with a separate backspacer — a construction choice that lets MachineWise apply different CNC-milled texture patterns across each scale independently. Available patterns include Stars, Fine Step, Smooth, Mosaic, and Epicenter, all machined directly into the titanium rather than applied as overlays. Handle thickness sits at 0.40" at the body and 0.52" at the clip, which keeps the Mojave compact and flat-carrying for a flipper knife that opens to 8.40" overall. At 3.6 oz, it carries lighter than most full-titanium framelock folders in this size class.
The Mojave deploys on Skiff ceramic ball bearings — a first for MachineWise when the model launched, selected specifically for compatibility with the framelock mechanism. The bearing pivot delivers consistent flipper action with smooth deployment and solid lockup. Lock face geometry was refined across multiple prototype iterations and validated with spine whack testing before production. The result is a titanium framelock flipper with drop-shut action that holds up under hard use.
MachineWise expresses the full range of their finishing capability across the Mojave lineup: anodized solids, multi-step fades (Mosaic Sunset, Green Blue, LV Fade), distressed effects, and colorways spanning Blues, Navy, Plum, and Blurple. Each numbered knife ships in a display case with a T15 bit and driver, a sample of Carbon Honey Thin lubricant, and the QC card/COA. MachineWise backs every Mojave with an unconditional lifetime warranty. All design, machining, and assembly happen in-house in Phoenix — this is a fully American-made EDC knife from raw titanium to finished product.
These are individually numbered knives from a small maker with a tight production cadence. Availability on specific variants is limited and does not restock predictably.
