on Orders Over $99The Barren Fork Jack is a modern take on a classic jack knife pattern, inspired by historical designs from Joseph Allen & Sons of Sheffield. This one-bladed folder is ideal for traditionalists, collectors, and users who appreciate a simple, functional slipjoint for everyday tasks.
Blade
The 2.9" clip point blade uses 14C28N stainless steel with a satin finish. 14C28N is a high-performance tool steel known for excellent edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness. The clip point shape is versatile, with a fine tip for detail work and a moderate belly for slicing. Heavy swedging on the spine adds strength and visual character.
Handle
Blue denim Micarta handles give this knife a rugged yet refined appearance. Micarta is a layered composite material made from fabric (in this case, denim) soaked in resin and compressed under heat and pressure. It offers excellent grip, especially when wet, and develops a beautiful patina with use. The handles are paired with brushed stainless steel bolsters and nickel silver pins, adding durability and visual contrast.
Carry
This is a slipjoint knife with no pocket clip. The blade is held open by spring tension with a half-stop at 90 degrees. The closed length of 3.625" makes it easy to carry in a pocket or belt sheath. At 2.8oz, it's lightweight for a traditional folder.
