The Otter Creek Barlow from RoseCraft Blades is a traditional slipjoint designed by Andy Armstrong, built for collectors and everyday carry users who appreciate classic pocketknife patterns done well.
Blade
The 2.9" clip point blade is made from 14C28N steel with a brushed satin finish and measures 0.10" thick. 14C28N is a Swedish stainless steel known for a good balance of edge retention and corrosion resistance, plus it sharpens easily. The blade includes swedging and a half stop, giving smooth, controlled opening and closing.
Handle
The handle scales are hand-jigged Vintage Barnboard bone, with each piece jigged individually rather than machine-stamped, so no two knives look exactly alike. Bone is a natural material, and color or texture variation near the bolsters is normal rather than a flaw. Brushed steel bolsters carry the Otter Print mark, and the knife weighs a light 3.1oz.
Carry
This is a traditional slipjoint - there's no locking mechanism, just spring tension holding the blade open with a half stop for added control. Closed length is 3.5", making it an easy, pocket-friendly carry.
