The Elk River Easy Open Jack is a single-blade traditional pattern from RoseCraft Blades, inspired by an old I-X-L design and reimagined by Andy Armstrong. It suits collectors and everyday carry users who appreciate classic slipjoint construction with a modern, corrosion-resistant steel.
Blade
The 2.75" lambsfoot blade is made from 14C28N stainless steel with a satin finish. 14C28N is a Swedish steel known for taking a keen edge easily and resisting corrosion well, making it a low-maintenance choice for daily use. The lambsfoot profile features a straight edge with a gentle curve to the tip, along with heavy swedging and a half-stop for controlled opening.
Handle
The handle covers are vintage red jigged bone, hand-jigged for texture and dyed to give each knife a worn-in, well-loved appearance. Since the jigging and coloring are done by hand, every set of covers is unique. Brushed stainless steel bolsters and liners, along with nickel silver pins, complete the handle, which also includes a diamond shield inlay and an easy-open slot for one-hand opening. The knife weighs just 2.6oz.
Carry
This is a slipjoint, so there's no locking mechanism - the blade is held open by spring tension and closes with a half-stop for controlled folding. At 3.5" closed, it slips easily into a pocket without a clip, in keeping with traditional jack knife design.
