The Obed Creek Bow Trapper is RoseCraft's take on an original pattern by Andy Armstrong, built for traditional knife collectors and everyday carry users who appreciate a classic layout with vintage styling.
Blade
The 3.1" drop point blade is made from 14C28N steel with a brushed satin finish and heavy swedging. 14C28N is a Scandinavian stainless steel known for taking a fine edge easily and resisting corrosion well, making it a practical choice for daily use. The blade opens to a half stop for controlled handling.
Handle
The covers are hand-jigged Red Jigged Bone, finished to look vintage and worn-in with lighter and smoother spots throughout - no two knives are exactly alike since each piece is jigged individually rather than machine-processed. Brushed steel bolsters, steel liners, and nickel silver pins complete the construction, along with the Spades shield inlay. The knife weighs 3.5oz and closes to 4.125", making it easy to carry.
Carry
This is a slipjoint, meaning the blade is held open by spring tension rather than a locking mechanism, with a half stop for added control when opening or closing. It carries easily in a pocket without a clip, in keeping with traditional knife design.
