Spartan Blades Clandestina
The Spartan Blades Clandestina was named Overall Knife of the Year at Blade Show 2024. It is a Bill Harsey designed fixed blade built by Spartan Blades in its US-made Elite Grade line. Harsey's background shapes the design: he worked with Colonel Rex Applegate and Al Mar, and he has a long history with Army Special Forces and Canadian SOF.
Spartan Blades Clandestina Specs
The Clandestina carries a 5.5 inch flat ground spear point on 3/16 inch stock. It runs 10.1875 inches overall on a 4.6875 inch handle and weighs about 7.7 ounces. The spear point puts the tip on the centerline for penetration, and the flat grind keeps it cutting well for field work. That combination is why Spartan pitches it as both a tactical and survival knife.
MagnaCut Blade and PVD Finish
Spartan runs CPM MagnaCut at 61 to 63 HRC with its double deep cryo treatment, then finishes the blade in black or flat dark earth PVD. MagnaCut gives you high toughness and edge retention with stainless corrosion resistance, the right mix for a knife that might live on a plate carrier. Harsey Handle, Micarta, and Sheaths
