The Leatherman Super Tool 300 is the heavy-duty workhorse that sits between the Rebar and the Surge. It descends from the 1994 Super Tool, the larger, stronger follow-up to the original PST that a young engineer named Ben Rivera developed before rising to run the company, a chapter told in how Tim Leatherman invented the American multi-tool. Today it carries the strongest pliers in the full Leatherman lineup, built for electricians, tradesmen, and anyone who works a multi-tool hard every day.
Leatherman calls the Super Tool 300's pliers among the strongest it has ever produced, and the sloped-top handle design lets them reach further into tight spaces. The 19 tools include needlenose and regular pliers, replaceable wire, hard-wire, and stranded-wire cutters, an electrical crimper, wire stripper, two 420HC blades, saw, wood and metal file, awl with thread loop, 9 inch ruler, can and bottle openers, and Phillips, large, medium, and small screwdrivers. Every feature except the plier head locks in place.
Two 420HC blades do the cutting: a 3.2 inch plain edge and a fully serrated secondary. The three wire cutters for regular, hard, and stranded wire are removable 154CM, so they can be resharpened or replaced on the spot instead of retiring the tool, and they keep wire work off your blade edges. Our comparison of every major knife steel covers both steels.
Large cutouts in the stainless handles make every tool easy to open with work gloves on, and rolled handle edges keep the grip comfortable through long days. It closes to 4.5 inches and weighs just under 10 ounces, with a lanyard ring for a secure tether.
We carry the Super Tool 300 in stainless steel and black oxide, both made in the USA and covered by Leatherman's 25-year warranty. The sheath is sold separately, so pair it with a Molle, leather, or nylon option from Leatherman Sheaths and Accessories, or compare it with everything in our multi-tools collection.
