The White River Firecraft FC4 is the just-right knife of the Firecraft series, not too big and not too small. Designed by Jason Tietz for heavy use in real survival situations and made in the USA by White River Knife & Tool in Fremont, Michigan, it is equally at home on a backcountry trip, at camp, on a hunt, or checking chores off the list around the house.
A 4 Inch Blade With a Deep Finger Choil
The FC4 runs a 4 inch blade on .130 inch stock, 9 inches overall at 6 ounces, enough edge for most routine chores without the bulk of a big chopper. A deep finger choil protects your fingers while you bear down whittling, cutting, or chopping, making it a well-rounded bushcraft knife and a capable fixed blade EDC.
Ferro Rod Notch and Bow Drill Divot
Like every Firecraft, the FC4 has a notch atop the spine for striking a ferro rod, and one comes with the knife, so your edge never touches the rod. A polished stainless steel divot works as a bearing block for a fire bow, giving you a second, friction-based way to make fire.
CPM S35VN at 59 to 60 Rc
White River builds the FC4 in CPM S35VN hardened to 59 to 60 Rc, a stainless that balances toughness for batoning and chopping with the edge retention to keep carving and slicing. Our comparison of every major knife steel explains where S35VN fits among outdoor steels.
Kydex or Leather Sheath
