The Raider is a double-edged dagger and modern reinterpretation of the USMC Raider Stiletto carried in World War II, designed by Les George—former U.S. Marine and custom knife maker. The 7-inch stiletto blade is ground from SK5 steel at 58-60 HRC with a diamond-shaped cross section and needle-sharp tip. Unlike the original's fragile die-cast zinc alloy construction, this version features full-tang design for structural integrity. The black powder coat provides corrosion resistance while maintaining a subdued appearance.
George engineered the Raider with a hilt-heavy balance point approximately one inch behind the guard, ensuring secure retention during high-stress engagements and reducing the risk of losing grip. The symmetrical, slender handle features a middle convexity for natural hand positioning. At 12 inches overall and 0.444 pounds, it maintains the proportions of the original while offering modern reliability.
The custom injection-molded sheath includes a nylon hanger for secure carry and quick deployment. Made in Taiwan.
The original USMC Raider Stiletto was issued to Marine Raiders during World War II for close-quarters combat. This modern tribute preserves the aggressive lines and purpose of that wartime legend while addressing the structural weaknesses that plagued the originals in the field.
