Reate EXO-M
The Reate EXO-M is the model that turned the EXO from a collector's curiosity into something people actually carry. It keeps the pivoting frame and gravity deployment that define the series, then adds the two features the original omitted, a slide lock and a pocket clip, in a footprint that fits a front pocket without argument. At 7.48 inches overall with a 2.95 inch blade, it sits between the full size EXO and the Mini.
How the EXO-M Improves on the Original EXO
Deployment is unchanged and that is the point. Pinch the milled titanium scales, drop the frame at an angle, and the blade travels forward on its own weight with no spring, detent, or button involved. What changed is everything around the mechanism. The slide lock secures the blade open or closed, which removes the risk of the frame shifting in a pocket, and the right hand tip down clip means the knife no longer requires the leather sheath the full size model ships with. Reviewers who criticized the original for being a desk toy rather than a knife generally reversed that position with the EXO-M.
Reate EXO-M Blade Steel and Handle Materials
The catalog splits between Elmax and CPM-3V at .118 inch stock. Elmax leans toward edge retention and corrosion resistance, while 3V trades some of that for impact toughness and chipping resistance, so the choice tracks how hard you intend to work the knife rather than which steel is better. Choosing Between the EXO-M and Other Gravity Models
