Heretic Knives was founded in 2015 in Sebastian, Florida by Anthony "TJ" Marfione Jr. and his wife Jessica. TJ grew up inside Microtech, his father's company, then set out under the motto Defy Convention to build designs of his own. Read the full story in Anthony Marfione Jr. and the rise of Heretic Knives, and see how the two brands differ in Heretic vs Microtech. Every Heretic is hand assembled, sharpened, and finished in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty.
Out the front autos are the heart of the catalog. The double action Manticore comes in three sizes, the Manticore S, Manticore E, and Manticore X, and our guide to the Heretic Manticore series explains how they compare. The Hydra runs single action with a signature recurve, the slim NYX fits a 3.62 inch blade into a narrow pocket profile, and the Colossus and Cleric II round out the double action lineup among our OTF knives.
Several Heretic designs come in both automatic and manual versions. The Jinn is offered as an auto, a manual, and a button lock, the Medusa, Pariah, and Wraith each run auto and manual builds, and the polymer chassis Martyr brings MagnaCut tantos to the line's entry point. The Koschei is Heretic's first crossbar lock manual folder. Compare them with our automatic knives and folding knives.
The double edged Nephilim and Mini Nephilim cover fixed blade duty in Elmax, joining our wider range of fixed blade knives. For the desk or pocket, the Thoth titanium pen carries the same machining and finishes as the knives.
CPM MagnaCut dominates current blades, with Elmax, M390, and Damascus on select runs, and our comparison of every major knife steel covers them all. Handles run anodized aluminum, carbon fiber, titanium, polymer, and Ultem inlays. Heretic builds in small runs and drops sell out fast, including the DLT Trading exclusives we receive on allocation, so sign up for notifications to catch the next one.
